Registering a business:

Most of the time, the waiting area at the business registry at RDB is packed. That is not in the first place due to a boom in entrepreneurship (although that might also play a role), but rather to the fact that it has never been as easy to set up a business in Rwanda. If you have the required documents, you can have a recognized enterprise in 24 hours.
According to Yves Sangano, chief registration officer at the Office of the Registrar General (ORG), the simplification of procedures is both legal and institutional in nature. Legally, the new companies act has instituted significant changes in the requirements for companies. “In the past, business registration was done by the courts, but the new companies act assigned it to a specialized agency,” Sangano explains.
